An hour from Christchurch with beautiful views of the historic Port Levy bay is where you will find this stunning secluded getaway.  After a short scenic walk from the car park, you will find your oasis of calm where you can sit back and relax uninterrupted.

Facilities include a fabulous shower, flush toilet, crisp linen, cooking and eating equipment including a gas hob and barbeque, tea coffee and milk; as well as an assortment of games, local reference books, a telescope and a whole lot of nothing to do!  if you are feeling a little more active, take a short walk across to the Acropolis outcrop and watch the sunset or for the more active take advantage of the many nearby Banks Peninsula hiking trails. If you are staying for a couple of nights, then perhaps head across to Akaroa to swim with the dolphins or go sea kayaking before returning in the afternoon to relax and take in the views.

Made from fresh local ingredients the evening eating includes a snack platter of local cheeses, house-cured Mt Cook Salmon, crackers and fresh baked bread with local seasonal fruit. Plus your choice of freshly pohutakawa smoked salmon, marinated steak or free-range herbed chicken breast (ready for you to cook on either the hob or barbecue) as well as a fresh salad of the day, pickles, gourmet potatoes and something decadently sweet to finish. Breakfast is freshly made organic muesli with yoghurt and berry compote. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available.

Not suitable for those with mobility challenges (sorry). Glass, when wet, is slippery and unsafe so we provide facilities for your wet shoes and jackets.

While you can walk back out to stock up on supplies you’ll find that the desire to stay put and relax is overwhelming! So please ensure you have enough food and drink to totally indulge the isolation.
